Which airlines will take my pet? Cabin, hold or cargo
Quick answer
Whether your pet flies in the cabin, in the hold as checked baggage or as cargo depends on the airline, on its weight with the carrier, on the breed and on the countries at both ends. Most airlines allow the cabin only up to about 8 kg including the bag, and many refuse snub-nosed breeds in the hold. Enter your route and your pet to see who takes it and how.
How this tool works
We check every carrier that operates between your two countries against its pet rules in our rules base: species, cabin and hold weight limits, breed bans and snub-nosed policies, and the country rules that forbid the cabin on some routes. Airline policies change often; each result links to the full Routes view with the details and the date the rules were checked.
Rules base last updated 28 September 2026. Screening tool, not legal or veterinary advice.
Questions people ask
