Animal health certificate window calculator
Quick answer
An EU animal health certificate (AHC) must be issued by an official vet no more than 10 days before your pet arrives in the EU or Northern Ireland, and after entry it stays valid for 4 months of travel between EU countries. Other destinations set their own windows. Enter your arrival date to see when to book the vet.
How this tool works
We count back from your arrival date using the window in our rules base for your destination, or 10 days — the EU rule — where you do not pick one. Travelling by sea, the window extends by the length of the voyage.
Rules base last updated 28 September 2026. Screening tool, not legal or veterinary advice.
