Travelling with a service dog or support animal?

The rules aren’t the same as for pets, and they change from carrier to carrier and border to border. Our guides show what each one accepts.

Service dogs

Forms, airlines, trains, ferries, cruises and the border: what each one accepts, and the certificate you actually need.

Emotional support animals

Most owners only find out at check-in. See which carriers still say yes, and the pet route that gets your animal on board.

Why complex trips need expert support

Every stop on the way adds a country, an airport and an airline whose rules all have to agree.

Example from our rules base

UK to Australia with a change of planes. Australia lets a pet change aircraft only in approved places, such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, London, Dubai and Hong Kong, and the pet must stay airside the whole time. Book a stopover anywhere else, and the pet can’t enter.

THE HARSH REALITY OF PET TRAVEL

The Airport Is the Worst Place to Find Out

Every week, pets are refused at international borders. Not because their owners didn’t care. Because one certificate was issued a day too early. Because a vaccination came before the microchip — which makes it void for EU entry. Because nobody told them the rules changed in April 2026.

Puglo and Lora
“When people ask me how I travel with Puglo, I wish I had a simple answer. Every country has its own requirements, and some make it easy to understand while other make it near impossible to figure out. That’s why I love Pet Holiday Club. They are making global pet travel simple”
Linnea and Ksenia
“Five flights together and many more to come. Travelling with a dog becomes so much easier when you know all the paperwork is covered. That’s why Pet Holiday Club will always be my choice when planning trips with Linnea”
